Privacy Policy

Modern Electric Inc. ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This page explains what information this website collects, who has access to it, and your rights under Canadian privacy law.
Accountability
Modern Electric Inc. is accountable for personal information under its control. As a British Columbia business, we're primarily subject to BC's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), which requires organizations to explain how they collect, use, disclose, store, and dispose of personal information. Because this website also uses infrastructure and service providers outside BC, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) applies as well.
What we collect
The callback form on this site asks for your name, phone number, and email address, plus — optionally — your property location, the type of work you need, your timeline, and any additional details you choose to share.
Consent
By filling out and submitting the callback form, you consent to us collecting and using that information to respond to your inquiry, as described on this page. You can withdraw that consent at any time — see "Your rights" below — though we may not be able to follow up on an inquiry if we no longer have a way to reach you.
Who has access to your information
Three parties are involved in handling a form submission, each for a specific reason:
- Modern Electric Inc. — Kev receives your submission by email and uses it solely to respond to your inquiry and provide a quote.
- Engenuity Lab — the web development and hosting provider that built and operates this website on Modern Electric Inc.'s behalf. As part of that service, Engenuity Lab configures and has operational access to the tools this site depends on, including the account used to relay form submissions, in order to build, maintain, and troubleshoot this website.
- Web3Forms — a third-party service that receives your submission from your browser and relays it to our inbox by email. We don't operate our own server or database for this website — Web3Forms is the mechanism your submission passes through in transit, acting as our data processor. Rather than our own summary of what that means, see their Privacy Policy and the Data Processing Agreement (PDF) we've entered into with them directly.
We don't sell, rent, or share your information with anyone else, and we don't use it for marketing.
Storage outside Canada
Web3Forms operates from India and relies on a number of infrastructure and sub-processors located outside Canada — including in the United States and the European Union — to deliver the service. That means a form submission may be stored or processed outside Canada while in transit to our inbox, and information stored outside Canada may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement, or national security authorities of that country under its laws. Cookies
This website does not use cookies or any tracking or analytics scripts of its own.
Other third-party services
Loading this website makes requests to a small number of other outside services:
- Google Fonts — used to display this site's typefaces. Google may log your IP address as part of serving font files; see Google's Privacy Policy.
- OpenStreetMap — powers the service-area map on this site. Map tile requests may log your IP address; see the OpenStreetMap Foundation's Privacy Policy.
- Google Maps / Google Reviews — links on this site take you to Google's own site to view reviews or directions. Once you leave our site, Google's own Privacy Policy applies.
Retention
Modern Electric Inc. and Engenuity Lab don't keep a separate copy or database of form submissions — once a submission arrives by email, it's kept only as long as that email is kept, the same as any other message sent to us directly. Web3Forms's own retention terms, including their submission time-to-live and deletion process, are set out in the Data Processing Agreement (PDF), Section 8, rather than restated here.
Safeguards
All data submitted through this site travels over HTTPS (encrypted in transit). This site has no database of its own for visitor-submitted information. Web3Forms's technical and organisational security measures — encryption, access controls, and breach notification commitments — are set out in the Data Processing Agreement (PDF), Sections 4 and 7 and Annex 2.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA and BC's PIPA, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, request a correction if it's inaccurate or incomplete, and withdraw your consent to further contact at any time. If you have a concern about how your personal information has been handled, contact Kev first using the details below so we can try to resolve it directly. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can file a complaint with the applicable privacy regulator:
